1^st Annual Open Show

The 1^st Open Show of the newly formed Exhibition Budgerigar Society (Ireland) was held in Kilnamanagh Community Hall on Saturday the 5^th of September. It turned out to be a huge success. All members were very enthusiastic about the occasion. They arrived at 7.00 am to get the staging, and everything into gear for the event. A total of  206 birds were benched for the competition. The committee would like to say a big thank you to Terry Knott, Joe Nevin, Tommy Burke, Mark Argue, Cathal Wright, Liam Kelly,  James Sidney, Christy Ebbs, Adrian McCormack, and  Michael McConalogue.  Everyone worked tirelessly on the day. The atmosphere in the place was magnificent with everyone enjoying the event with everyone talking to old and new members. A special thanks to Chris Snell,

The committee are grateful to Ronnie McCauley (Ladysmith Pets & Aquatics) the Main Event Sponsor.  He had a very successful day with his wonderful display of a trade stand. A special thanks to Alan Doyle of Premier Pets, 11 Claddagh Road, Dublin, 10. Also a special thanks to all committee and members involved for donating trophies (too many to mention) and to Terry Knott for sponsoring the rosettes.

Many thanks to Olly Byrne our Event Auctioneer for the day. He always manages to find time for our events and is Ireland’s answer to Geoff Capes for getting the money out of the punters. Olly greatly increased the clubs funds and was a worthy entertainer sharing jokes with the audience, and we’re glad to have him on board. Many thanks to Ronnie Mc Auley, and Jos Reynders for bird donations, and to the members for the bird sales.

The Exhibition Budgerigar Society ( Ireland ) were proud to launch their new society logo at the 1^st Open Show of the society.  This logo will now be displayed on all correspondence, signage, tea shirts, and memorabilia, etc..

               Genetics. Open to questions and answers following the presentation.

EBS ( IRL ) 2nd Annual Open Show  has been arranged for Saturday, 4th September, 2010. The event will be held  at  the Kilnamanagh Community Hall, Dublin. 

The Judges are Geoff Bowley, Derbyshire, England, &  Patsy Mc Cann, Northern Ireland.
